Leeds - A Place to Visit

Located on the River Aire, Leeds is the center point of Yorkshire, and not just due to its location. Leeds is renowned for its night life, and boasts the best night out in the country - and with good reason. Leeds city center has, at last count, 91 Bars, and 25 Clubs. Leeds night life has something for everyone, music styles ranging from rock clubs, to 70's & 80's, to Dance and Trance.

It's the night life that attracts Stag, Hen, and 21st Birthday parties from all over the country. It's not uncommon to see a group of girls dressed as fairys, or a group of guys wearing their "Learner" plates.

The famous "Otley Run" starts about 5 miles out of the city center, where you will start one of the best pub crawls in the country - visiting 10 to 12 pubs BEFORE you reach town.

Leeds has much more to offer than just drinking, dancing, and clubbing. In Leeds and the surrounding area you can go: Quad Biking; Off Road Karting; Paintballing; Clay Pigeon Shooting; and Powerturn Buggies. Larger attractions include the Royal armouries, and Elland Road football stadium - the home of Leeds Utd - and just a short bus ride out of the city you will find skiing, snow boarding, rock climbing and skateboarding at Xscape right next door to Junction 32 shopping outlet village.

For the shopoholics out there there is a whole quarter of the city dedicated to shopping, aptly named the "Shopping Quarter" . Leeds Boasts 8 large shopping centers, including the famous White Rose shopping center.

65 restaurants alone means that you will never be stuck for a place to eat, catering for a broad range of tastes, from Thai to Indian, Chinese to Italian.

You'll need a place to stay, and with 26 large hotels, you can't go far wrong. The hotels are very competitively priced, so it's down to your personal preference when it comes to the style of the hotel you stay in. Styles range from modern contemporary, to traditional 1930's styled hotels. Many of the hotels also have a supply of guest only, free admission tickets for several clubs in Leeds, so just ask reception what they have.

One day is not long enough to experience everything Leeds has to offer. You'll want to stay at least 2 nights, and then want to come back for more the next week!
